Privacy policy

Last updated: 21 August 2026

Short version: I collect as little as I can get away with, I don't sell anything about you, and you can ask me to delete it at any time.

Template — not yet reviewed.

This document is a starting point, not legal advice. Have a lawyer review it against your actual data practices and jurisdiction before you launch.

What's collected

  • Your email address, if you sign up for the Focus Flow Friday newsletter.
  • What you type into the contact form — name, email, topic and message.
  • Booking details you give when you schedule a call: name, email, and anything you write in the booking questions.
  • Basic analytics — pages viewed, rough location by country, device type, referring site. Aggregate, not a profile of you.

There's no account system on this site, so there is no password and no stored profile.

What it's used for

  • Sending the newsletter you asked for.
  • Replying to you when you write to me.
  • Running and preparing for coaching calls.
  • Understanding which pages are useful so I can write more of what helps.

That's the whole list. Your data is not sold, rented, or handed to advertisers, and it is not used to build an advertising profile.

Who else sees it

A few services process data on my behalf. Each has its own privacy policy, which governs what they do with it.

  • Calendly — handles call bookings and stores the name, email and answers you provide when booking.
  • [Newsletter provider — TODO] — stores newsletter subscriber emails and sends the emails.
  • [Analytics provider — TODO] — measures site traffic.
  • Hosting and email providers — technically necessary to serve the site and deliver messages.

If a legal authority makes a valid, binding request, I have to comply. That's the only other case.

Cookies

The site itself stores one thing in your browser: your Focus Mode preference, kept in local storage so the setting survives a reload. It's not a tracker and it never leaves your device.

Analytics and the embedded Calendly widget may set their own cookies when those parts of the page load. You can block cookies in your browser; the site still works.

How long it's kept

  • Newsletter email: until you unsubscribe, then removed from the active list.
  • Contact messages: kept while the conversation is useful, then deleted.
  • Coaching records: kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
  • Analytics: aggregate only, retained per the analytics provider's default.

Your rights

Whatever jurisdiction you're in, you can ask me to:

  • Tell you what I hold about you.
  • Correct anything wrong.
  • Delete it.
  • Stop emailing you — every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe.
  • Send you a copy in a portable format.

Email me and I'll do it. No form, no verification maze, no reason required.

If you're in the EU or UK

The lawful bases used here are consent (newsletter), and legitimate interests (replying to you, keeping the site working and secure). Where a coaching engagement exists, the basis is performance of a contract.

You have the rights listed above, plus the right to withdraw consent at any time and to complain to your local data protection authority. Some providers listed above may process data outside the EU/UK under standard contractual clauses.

If you're in California

You can ask what personal information is collected, ask for it to be deleted, and ask whether it's sold or shared. It isn't sold or shared for cross-context behavioural advertising. Exercising these rights will never get you worse service or a worse price.

Children

This site is for adults. It isn't directed at children under 16, and I don't knowingly collect their data. If that happened by accident, email me and I'll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and material changes go out in the newsletter.
